Friedel's Fine Art Grand Opening

Friedel's Fine Art located at 1430 W. Main St. Fort Wayne, In. will have their grand opening Tues. Oct. 4th, 2011 from 6pm-10pm. Come join us in celebrating the opening of the newest art gallery in Fort Wayne. Friedel's Fine Art will feature some of the finest up and coming artists to the area. Mj Friedel will hold a silent auction for one of her paintings with 90% of proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We will have a business card drawing for a $50.00 gift certificate to Friedel's Fine Art. More to come so.........stay tuned!!

I found the location for the gallery.......Friedel's Fine Art will be located at 1430 W. Main St. in Fort Wayne. I'm thinking it will probably take a few weeks to get it up and running. I'm hoping to have the grand opening around the first week of October but I will post the date at a later time. I'm going this morning to set up my merchant and business account. There will be so much to do in the next few weeks to have the gallery ready to go. I'll keep posting so you keep reading:)

I think I found a place for my gallery....I haven't had any luck getting ahold of the person renting it out so I hope it's still available!! We drove by it and I'm defenitly interested.....okay location and good price. I really want a place for people to see my work in person (much better than pics) and not really interested in putting it all in other galleries unless I have to. I'm so excited but at the same time my stomach's in knots!! I know how much of my time this is going to take up but I really have to try or I will never know! I love creating so much and if I can spend my time doing just that and getting paid for it I wouldn't complain. Wish me luck.....if you're an artist that I have spoke with about putting your work in the gallery, as long as this goes through you should be hearing from me soon.

I am still searching for a place for the gallery but have looked at everything I could find in Fort Wayne affordable to me.....so now I will just wait for something to pop up that would be a great location. In the mean time while I am waiting I have begun to create jewelry. I have created a charm bracelet with magnetic charms and once I can get it marketed I really think it will take off. You are able to change your charms as frequently as you like with ease. Charms will be available for $4.00 each and bracelets will be $18.00 and will come with 4 charms to start. Really cute piece to add to your jewelry collection.

I still have not found a place for the art gallery....I have a few really good artists who would like to display their art in the gallery but no gallery. I really need some investors to get things up and running.....I would love to start the gallery in the aboite area but just don't have the funds to do that right now. So if you are an investor and you like what you see contact me and we can go from there. I have some really good ideas for marketing the gallery....several art shows with food and cocktails and maybe some live music.....I have been all over Fort Wayne and the property is either in a good location and to expensive or a bad area and cheap. I think the location is going to be the key to success!!

Overview and Summary:
Our company’s purpose is to provide gallery space for not only myself as an artist but several other up and coming artists. Our displays will include sculptures, jewelry, paintings and any other unique art from talented but unknown artists. Once our property is in place we will conduct a search for gifted artists who have not yet saturated our community. We will offer Contemporary high quality art at a fraction of the price of our competitive galleries. I believe keeping our art youthful will revive art in the generations below us.

Marketing Strategies:
Marketing the company name will be #1 to achieve our financial goals. Joining several local art groups, organizations, and social networks to spread the company name. Getting involved in community events, becoming a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Conventional Visitors bureau and any other local organization. Attending several art venues for the social well being of the company. Advertising will include but are not limited to flyers, brochures, commercials, mailers and emails. Investigating spending versus income on each advertisement purchased by our company.

Temporary set back

We found two properties to take a look at today but last night my 4 year old daughter Charli fell of the monkey bars and broke both bones in her wrist. Not feeling very good about leaving her today so we are putting it off for a few days. Poor girl has her 5th birthday (pool) party next week and now is in a cast and can't swim for awhile. She's so tough she tried to hide her wrist from me so she wouldn't have to go to the doctor not an easy thing to do when your in that much pain. She's feeling better now but still a little sore. She is my little trooper:) So on the art gallery end things may be pushed back a bit...I have posted a listing on craigslist looking for artists to display work in the gallery....hopefully I'll get some really good up and coming artists in there. Then once I decide on the place next will be purchasing all the equipment and displays for the gallery. Hoping everything just kind of falls into place.....this has been a very stressful process so far and I have only just begun. Shoot me an email if you know any artists looking for gallery exposure.

Last night was terrible.....Went to bed at 8pm and laid there with my eyes closed and my mind racing. Sometimes I wish I had a button on my body to put my brain to sleep:) Finally fell asleep at around 11 only to awake at 2am for work. My brain has been focused on trying to find a building to start up my art gallery so I'm kind of zoned out at work. Can't really afford to much extra so it's been difficult finding a property in my price range. I'm so excited to get it started....trying to be patient but never have been very good at that. Once I get the building secured I'll be on the hunt for artists....Not really looking for artists who are plastered at every art gallery in Fort Wayne but more of the up and coming artists who are unknown. I'm just winging it right now.....managed before but never had the experience of starting a business up so this should be very interesting. I'll keep everyone up to date on my adventure and hopefully it will end in success and not failure:)
